Her paw steps were silent as the lone wolf pulled her way up the old road. She had been on her own for quite a while now, not bothering to form any kind of relationship, and more so, enjoying the quiet when one was on their own. Her head was held high and her pale white fur was like a dull fog as she walked along. It was how she had earned her name to begin with. The lone ghost. Her ears twitched as an old castle came into her view. Her head tilted curiously to the side as she flicked her tail, curiosity making her heart beat pick up in her chest.
The mountain trek was no fun, and it felt like forever before she could finally make out more of the details of the castle. It was just the brink of dawn, the air filled with the same misty fog of her fur, and it gave the castle an eerie glow. The white wolf loved it. With her head held high, she pranced with dance-like steps up to the building, scouting the outside before deciding if it was safe to go in. Once she had routed the whole building and found no fresh scents aside from a rodent here and there, she began to look for an entrance. Even for an old place, it was locked up pretty tight, and the only way in she could find was through a semi-broken window.
Even though she wasn't too large of a wolf, she was still larger than the break. So, when she pushed off and aimed for the opening, she made it through, but shattered the rest of the window with it. As her paws crashed onto the carpeted floor, she let out a snarl of annoyance. Her white fur was now dotted with blood and she could feel the stinging of where the glass had dug her pelt from the pressure of jumping through it. Ghost was more careful this time, picking her paws up high until she found a corner that was clear of dust to sit. Only then did she lower her head to lick at the cuts on her skin, making sure to keep one eye and ear on the territory around her. Just because she couldn't smell them didn't mean she was completely alone.
